33 Sites on my web reading list

2007-01-27

I haven't been home much this week because I've been helping my Dad who has been ill.  Before that I was sick myself for over a week.  That means I haven't been writing much on my blog, only really sharing websites I have found with short little descriptions (via my del.icio.us bookmarks).

So, I thought I would take this opportunity to share with you what I try to read/scan on a daily basis to keep up with the ever changing world of technology, web 2.0 and blogging even when I am not able to write much for posts.

To keep up on the world of web 2.0 I read

  1. O'Reilly Radar
  2. Techcrunch
  3. Mashable!
  4. Read/WriteWeb
  5. Web 2.0 Explorer
  6. Web2.0 List
  7. Solution Watch
  8. Emily Chang

To find new and interesting websites (where most of my del.icio.us posts come from)

  1. MoMB - Museum of Modern Betas
  2. Emily Chang - eHub
  3. BuzzShout
  4. Neo Binaries
  5. Popular pages on del.icio.us

Technology sites/blogs I like to keep up with

  1. Techmeme
  2. Digg/Technology
  3. Tech-Recipes
  4. BetaNews
  5. TechSpot
  6. Friedbeef's Tech
  7. Official Google Blog

Blogs on blogging

  1. Problogger Blog Tips
  2. Copyblogger
  3. Daily Blog Tips
  4. JohnTP.com
  5. Lorelle on WordPress
  6. The Blogging Times

Lifehacks and such

  1. lifehacker
  2. lifehack.org
  3. Ririan Project

Marketing and advertising blogs

  1. Micro Persuasion
  2. Pronet Advertising

Newspapers

  1. Wall Street Journal (I subscribe to the online edition)
  2. New York Times (check out the Times Reader)

Whew! All in all I have quite a reading list.  Thanks to Netvibes I am able to scan through articles and posts fairly quickly to find which items to read and which I can skip over.

The biggest problem facing me these days is finding more and more blogs that I find interesting.  Rather than adding another tab to my Netvibes I have been experimenting with Google Reader and the built in feed reader in Internet Explorer 7 (which also integrates nicely with Outlook 2007) to see if they might help manage my reading list.  I'll let you know if I find either of them helpful in any way.
